Ashworth College - Please, stay away from Ashworth

I have to consider those with positive things to say about Ashworth, work for Ashworth College, or have not gotten out in the real world to “try” and use their degree from there. I am far from a lazy low life, who refuses to work hard to get a degree and a decent paying job. I started at Ashworth, quickly discovered it was a fraud school, and moved on to a reputable, regionally accredited university. Do your research before getting involved with this school, please. A degree is virtually useless from there. If you are in the real world competing for a job, you will not get it if you are up against someone with a “real” degree from a regionally accredited school.

Recently widowed, and in desperate need to further my education to care for my son and I, Ashworth College seemed like a dream come true. Small payment plan, no need to apply for federal student aid, and wow, cheap tuition, with books included. I could not...

Ashworth seems okay at first, but after you enroll your on your own. I paid them in full for the MBA program and was actually dropped from the login process without any notification.

There are no instructors to talk to. They do love taking your money.

Ashworth College - Collection Calls Review from Redmond, Washington

I have just received the rudest call from someone about a supposed debt I have from Ashworth. When I asked to receive something in writing. He got upset and hung up on me. Why are they calling in 2014 in regards to something that supposedly took place from 2003 to 2008? Who takes an online class that long?

I just received a letter from a collection agency about a tax class I supposedly signed up for in 2003. I called and it was put down as verbal dispute and now I have to send a letter for written dispute.

I hadn't even heard of Ashworth until receiving the notice. Like you- 12 years later? Plus- why pay for a tax class when you can take it for free at any tax agency each year? And- NEVER on my credit report?

Something isn't right.

I will say- the lady I spoke with was polite.

Ashworth college is a joke! I first tried to withdrawal 6 days after the five and tried to fight for it but no go. First they told me that I would owe $200 if I cancelled right then. I freaked and started thinking well maybe I will just stick with the program well then...

Oh, boy Ashworth. I went there 6 years ago and was told i enrolled to get my degree for teacher assisting and the classes were on sale.

I took it finished the course and they have my money. I didn't recieve a degree or a normal transcript. I recieved a diploma and was told no one will hire me. AU will not refund my money at all.

And told me I should of read the fine print on the contract.

So, I lost out on alooottt of money! Still mad till this day!

Ashworth College offers a pharmacy technician program that could be completed online and through the mail. Seemed like a good idea since the words "ACCREDITED" and "CERTIFIED" were in bold letters. The program even has a "CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN EXAM" provided by...

Funny, my state requires either the ExCPT (the NHA exam) or the PTCB exam. In other words, Ashworth's program would be fine.

Maybe you should have read about your state's requirements beforehand like Ashford's website states,

"A career in this field may require you to meet certain licensing, training, and other requirements that can vary by vocation and state. You should check with your state, local government and/or licensing board to find out which requirements may be applicable in your state."

  • Ashworth college bad school
I started on Oct 01, 2012 and everything was going pretty smoothly, until 2-3 weeks ago. It seem as though this "instructor" has some kind of issue with me or just in general. Shes hardly on time (had to wait nearly 3 weeks to get one of my lessons graded) and then...

All I can say is - Beware of these happy go lucky, too good to be true "standalone online schools"! Bad Service, Bad Resources, and Bad Regulations (Unregulated by actual Legitimate Accreditation School Boards Mind You).

All you can do at this point is turn this negative experience into a positive learning curve. At least the good news is - the more bad practices and reviews that are reported, the more money they will lose because people will think twice before joining such a poppycock school!

Ashworth College - Do not pay.

My sister enrolled in Ashworth and a month later I enrolled as well on her recommendation. I was told that after my deposit, nothing would be due until after June (which was three months later. Well after two months I got a statement in the mail for over $600, so I called them confused. They claimed that payment was due immediately, and that they would have never offered me such a payment plan. I told them that I couldn't afford the $600, and to cancel everything. I called my sister to find that the exact same thing happened to her. Now, two years later I just got a collections statement for $1100 and I refuse to pay it.
