Ashworth College - Ashworth University is a waste of your money.
Ashworth University is a joke. I am a former employee, and speaking from "behind the lines" : Don't waste your money.
The company gives employees in Enrollment a small bonus for every new enrollment, even if the student cancels the next day. This leads to the recruiter doing whatever they must to enroll a student--even lie. They have lied about prices, about what the school can/can't do, etc. DON'T FALL FOR IT!
Then, once you're enrolled, you're caught. Even if you immediately decide it's not for you, you'll have a heck of a time getting your money back.
And if you decide to continue on, you're guaranteed to have many problems along the way, be it late responses, bad information, technical mishaps, etc.
Even then, if you somehow manage to graduate (less than 15% of Ashworth students make it this far), your degree probably won't be accepted in most traditional schools/work.
Technically, the school is accredited. But, that piece of paper is essentially worthless in the real world. You'd be better off saving your money and attending traditional high school or community college.
Back in October, the company laid off 17 workers, including me and people who had worked there 17 YEARS, single mothers, etc. They took us individually into a conference room, told us, then advised us we were to leave immediately--not say goodbye to anyone or tell anyone what happened. And we were not allowed back on the premises--ever.
What a company, huh?
Please...don't waste your money.

the 17 years you work there, only now you know its a waste of time? I would say you're being a hypocrite. because from day one if you notice its a waste of time college you should have spoken out.

Lesson1Learning at Ashworth
Where can I get answers to their exams?
Bitter?
I wonder how many bonuses were given for getting on here and writing these glowing reviews?
I am a current student and I love Ashworth!
The "employee" who wrote the above commentary appears, to me, to be just an unhappy "fired" employee committed to giving the school a bad name. In this economy, many businesses are/were unfortunately forced to lay off employees and it appears that Ashworth is also a victim.
I'm currently enrolled in Ashworth College earning a Bachelors in Criminal Justice. I've been employed as a Poilce Officer for the last 13+ years; and prior to that, had a 12 year career as a Military Police Officer. I only have 1 1/2 classes to finish with my degree and have never had any type of problem with the school. I have transferred prior college credits with no problem (some were not accepted, which was understandable) and taken "life experience exams" to "CLEP" some courses.
All of my books were sent in a timely manner and all of the coorespondance with the school was done in a timely manner and very professional. As with any school, some students may have problems, or be unhappy at times; however, thousands of students are currently enrolled-or gradutated-with no problems. I can attest that all of the courses that I've attended were detailed, professional and certainly not a "gimme". You DO have to study and regement yourself in order to pass the courses.
If your only looking for a piece of paper to say you have a college degree, Ashworth is not the place for you.
However, if you want to learn something and be proud of your accomplishments, Ashworth is for you. Good luck and I hope this commentation is beneficial to whomever reads it....
I disagree with the people that say Ashworth is a scam. I am in my 3rd year for the Criminal Justice Program.
Ashworth is an excellent school. I have also discovered that their credits will be accepted by my future law school. My average is 3.84 and I usually score between 90-100 on exams. One small complaint I can say is that sometimes they have billing errors.
Another small issue is that sometimes the student telephone reps will sometimes give different answers to the same question.
I live in Canada and this school is excellent for us. :grin
Ashworth,PCDI and james madison is all the same people. I would not recommend them to anyone.
They lie very well about everything.
It took me from 1997-**** to finish just High School and as of today no diploma no high school ring nothing but lies. If you don't want to get ripped off stay away from this school.
Why would it take you that long to finish high school? The student is the one who has to complete the work so how is it the schools fault?

No higher education institute in the United States is directly accreditted by the US department of Education. The US department of education has only a handfull of accrediting agencies that they except.
Ashworth College is nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training council, and it is an accrediting agency accepted by US department of Education. I have my Bachelors degree in business management with honors from Ashworth College. I now earn over $80,000 a year. The companies I have worked for are NISSIN Brake an international corporation and partnership with Honda, Cooper Tire the world's largest Tire manufacturer and Dana Corporation.
All these billion dollar international business do extensive back ground checks especially college educations. Every one have found that my education is 100% legit in every way, and they all not only passed my college background check with flying colors but each offered me at least $10,000 a year more to steal me away from the other company.
Ashworth is 100% legit. And fully accredited

But before i knew they werent accepted by florida pharmacy board, i enrolled and paid my tuition in full, this was yesterday. Immediately i called and asked for a refun d where i was transferred to the head of theschool... Got the voicemail, left a message.. no return call.
Called aqain today and got the voicemail again..
what do i need to do to qet my refund. Idec if they keep the 25 dollar enrollment fee!
Thanks. Good to know.
As to the whining about phone-calls - Kaplan blew up my phone for months.
I actually had to call my service provider and have them block the number in their system to make it stop, as the money and space in voice-mail from them was killing me. According to Kaplan, they continued to call for some months after that. I know this because they would tell me in every mail (post or electronic) they continued to send. I have no idea why this happened.
What they were contacting me about, I have absolutely no interest in, and who knows how many times I told them that...
I chalk it up to a fluke.
So, take a deep breath. They'll give up long before then.
